Full Hypnobirthing Course

This 8-hour course (usually 4 x 2hr sessions) is an antenatal and hypnobirthing course all rolled into one - everything you need to know to feel confident & fully prepared to welcome your baby into the world & to thrive postnatally! This is a private course which can be completely tailored to you & your birth partner at times to suit you. 

What will we cover?

  • WTF is hypnobirthing?!

  • What’s happening & how you and your baby work together at each stage of labour

  • Choosing where to give birth: how you can create an environment to maximise your incredible hormones and feel calm, positive & in control in labour

  • Considering & creating your birth plan

  • Making informed choices, trusting your intuition & practical tools to help you feel confident making decisions alongside your team

  • Amazing breathing & relaxation techniques

  • Gentle exercises to feel good in pregnancy & prepare your body for labour & birth

  • Interventions in labour & how to decide if they feel right for you

  • What happens during induction of labour & caesarean birth

  • Natural & pharmacological pain relief options

  • Your recovery, feeding your baby & helping you feel prepared for the ups & downs of the early postnatal period

  • How to be an awesome birth partner

Hypnobirthing Essentials course

This 4-hour course (usually 2 x 2hr sessions) is a 'mini' version of the full 8-hour course. It's perfect if you're already doing antenatal classes such as NCT or NHS but would also like to learn how to use hypnobirthing to feel fully prepared for birth. It's also a great refresher if you've done hypnobirthing before. I'll arrange a call with you before the course so that I include exactly what you need.

Positive Planned Caesarean Workshop

This 2.5-hour course will help you and your birth partner to feel calm and prepared for your planned caesarean birth. We'll talk about what to expect on the day, how to prepare for your baby's birth and ways to support your recovery. The workshop is perfect if you're already doing antenatal classes but you're planning a caesarean birth and want to feel fully informed, in control and positive as you prepare to meet your baby.

What will we cover?

  • What to expect before, during and after your birth

  • Your caesarean birth preferences 

  • Relaxation techniques to help you feel calm as you prepare to meet your baby, during the birth and afterwards

  • Promoting hormone production to support feeding and bonding immediately after the birth

  • Recovering from your birth

  • How soon can I start pregnancy yoga classes?
    As long as you've had your 12-week scan and your midwife/ doctor hasn't told you otherwise, classes are suitable once you reach 14 weeks of pregnancy. The great thing about yoga in pregnancy is it helps you physically and mentally but it also prepares your body for birth too. And you don't need to have practised yoga before - in fact around 70% of women do it for the first time in pregnancy!
  • Which hypnobirthing course would be best for me?
    Both my Full and Essentials hypnobirthing courses are private 1:1 sessions for you and your birth partner. If you haven't done any birth preparation classes I'd recommend the full 8-hour course. If you've already signed up for antenatal classes (e.g. with NCT or NHS) or if you've given birth before and you'd like a refresher, the 4-hour Essentials course is perfect.
  • When can we start Baby Massage?
    Baby massage classes are suitable from birth until they're crawling off the mat! Little ones of all ages love massage - I've had babies as young as 10 days all the way up to eight months starting a course. Whenever you start, you'll find classes are super relaxed and if your baby doesn't want to be massaged you have a handout to follow at home and plenty of time over the five weeks to practise all the strokes in class.
  • When can I start Mum & Baby Yoga?
    Mum & Baby Yoga is suitable from 10 weeks following a caesarean or assisted birth or 6 weeks following a straightforward birth. The main focus of classes is on yoga for you but we also include the babies and do some yoga specifically for them too!
